Survey Says: Smartphones Always On, Users Show Interest in Ads

Compete, a web analytics company, surveyed smartphone users to better understand their usage habits and interest in advertising.

The results show that smartphone users are spending time on their phones throughout the day. The primary uses are for productivity and entertainment.

As far as mobile advertising, consumers were most interested in receiving grocery coupons (36 percent), scanable barcodes (29 percent), offers to save and pursue at leisure (26 percent), movie theater offers (26 percent), and ads via SMS when going by a retailer with a promotion / coupon (21 percent).
