Last Saturday afternoon, Palm Beach County sheriff's deputies picked up a young girl walking alone on the road. Because the child was hearing impaired, she couldn't tell the deputies her name or any other information.
WPTV put the word out and sent out a news alert to iPhone app users hoping to help identify the child.
The child was later identified and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office reported that calls came in after local media websites, including WPTV.com, published their stories.
